Extended identifiers.
VHDL'93 allows the use of names called extended
identifiers. Extended identifiers, unlike normal identifiers, can contain
and character like space,!,?,etc. These identifiers are enclosed by the
backslash character. For example, the following variable is declared with
an extended identifier.
