Installation
You will need (and really want) to install the compiler on a hard disk.
To install the Green Mountain VHDL compiler package
-
Insert the original disk
-
Mount the disk (ex. mount /dev/fd0 /mnt) or copy the files to a
temporary directory with mtools (see man mtools).
-
Change to the directory where you mounted or copied the files and
run the install script.
-
The installation program will ask you what directory you would like to install
the program in. Enter a directory.
-
You will also need to add the path you entered into the installation program
to the PATH environment variable.
-
Set the VHDLPATH environment variable to the lib subdirectory of the
installation path.
