Close-out Plan for csci 461 =========================== Last Updated 25 march 17:17. ------------------------------- Eqipment loans can be arragged by contacting Merlin merlin.hansen@viu.ca Should you not have access to required equipment, I will adjust deliverables as best I can. Email me your situation. Due dates are also pushed back to the end of term. With regard to projects, if you need to change things, please email with updates. Peter ---------------------------------------- csci461 is a project based course on real time and embedded systems and has no final exam. I have posted the last two Lab assignments (for a total of 7). The plan was always to allocate the last 3 weeks for project completion. Students can submit code and documentation electronically for review and evaluation. > You can email me tar files. Make sure you have a README > at the outermost directory that will help me navigate your > submission. Final projects have a presentation and demonstration component. I will suggest videos where appropriate. I will post office-hours where I will answer email questions. > Wednesday 18 March 9-4pm. > Thursday 19 9-2pm. > Friday 20 9-noon. > Wednesday 25 noon - 4pm. > Thursday 26 9an - 4pm. > I will update this space in time. Please > send email to peter.walsh@viu.ca The main difficulty I see is that students need access to BeagleBoard/HC11 hardware and a Unix development environment. If students are working at home, they may not have access to the appropriate development environment. As a consequence, I think the best approach is to make the remaining Labs "for information" rather that for credit. > I propose taking 4 of the labs for credit. > I will work on the networking example for TOSF and > post when it ASAP. If you plan to use Nuttx, > I can send you instructions on how to load it on the BeagleBone > SD card. > I hope everyone who wanted a BeagleBone got one. > Please email me your thoughts on the plan. > Stay safe, > Peter
