CSCI 375 Team project: architectural design

These deliverables are due by the start of the lab on March 27th.

Document name

The document must be named Design.odt and must be located in the Documents directory of your repository.

Document overview

Provide a short (2-3 paragraph) outline of the content of this document.

Project update

Provide an update on the project plan, nothing any key changes (new/expanded tasks, task assignments, task completions) and an updated version of the software development plan.

Risk update

Provide an update on the risk management plan, noting any key changes (risks added/removed, updates on risk probabilities, etc).

Architectural design

Describe the preliminary design of your product, complete with at least the following:

• An overview of the system design
• A description of the network model in use (e.g. client-server, peer-to-peer, etc)
• A preliminary translation from your logical process model to a physical one, outlining your system and subsystems, delineating what is done in hardware, what is done in software, what is done manually.
• A description of the final chosen platform(s), language(s), and tools
• A discussion of all releveant security and reliability issues
• A preliminary translation from your logical data model to a physical one, clearly identifying the chosen storage forms, necessary supporting data structures, and data constraints (default values, error checking and data ranges, etc).

Team presentation

In the registered lab session of March 27th, each team will provide a short (10-15 minute) presentation summarizing the information in the document described above.
