Prior to the lecture, each team must assign at least one person to each of those three documents, and their task is to go through the document and create a list of every data item referenced, recording the following:
During the inspection, the team member(s) in charge of the Data Model will go through their list, item by item, and the members in charge of the Process Model and Requirements document will go through their list to see if it contains a description of the same data item, and if so will check to see that all the information recorded is consistent with the information in the Data Model, and will cross that data item off their lists as "dealt with".
Anything missing from any of the documents should be noted for later correction, and any inconsistencies in the data item information should be noted for later correction. It should be noted that all six points from the bullet list above should be identified for all data items - anything missing is a sign that your requirements/models are incomplete.
Once the Data Model list has been gone through completely, the team member(s) in charge of the Process Model list will go through their list, looking for items that have not been dealt with. These items must then be missing from the Data Model, and should be recorded as such, and checked against the contents of the Requirements list.
Once the Process Model list has been completed, the team member(s) in charge of the list from the Requirements document should go through their list, looking for any items that still have not been dealt with - these items would then be missing from both the Data and Process models.
Once the three lists have been completed, the team can turn to the list of items brought up (omissions and inconsistencies) and determine, item by item, which document (if any) is correct, and what needs to be fixed in each of the documents.
